Ayds Weight Loss Candy
When purchasing any weight loss product, it is important to do your research. Many people are exchanging their opinions about Ayds on DietBlogTalk.com

Overview
The Ayds box of “candy” sat on the kitchen counter of many people’s homes. The chocolate flavored taffy-like candy was claimed to satisfy the craving for a sweet while at the same time suppressing the appetite if eaten 30 minutes before a meal. Dieters could be seen carrying Ayds in their pockets to keep their appetite under control throughout the day, the problem was, they didn’t work. The idea was a great one, but the ingredients were impotent for suppressing the appetite. Exit Ayds; enter new supplements that contain appetite suppressants from natural sources in the plant kingdom. It is too bad that Ayds didn’t survive long enough to reformulate their candy with ingredients like Hoodia Gordonii or Garcinia Cambogia.
Ingredients at a Glance
The two phases of Ayds market life used different active ingredients to cause the appetite suppression which included Benzocaine and then phenylpropanolamine (PPA).
Ingredients in Focus
Both phases of the candy’s manufacturing relied on a taffy candy recipe and the use of synthetics for the active ingredients. The Ayds candy’s main appetite suppressant ingredient was benzocaine and that may sound familiar to you because it is still used as a local anesthetic in some topical pain relievers. Later on in the decade, the candy was reformulated with the active ingredient being phenylpropanolamine or PPA. That may sound familiar to you, as it is now a banned by the FDA because of increases the risk of hemorrhagic stroke associated with the ingredient
Positives
• The Ayds appetite suppressant candy was flavorful taffy.
Negatives
• The Ayds appetite suppressant candy did not contain safe and effective ingredients.
• Ayds is a discontinued appetite suppressant.
Final Thoughts
The weight loss market has come a long way since the 1970s with the discovery of some verifiably helpful appetite suppressant ingredients. If you need support for your weight loss, look for supplementation which includes a fat burning ingredient and also an ingredient to control cravings and fight hunger. Combine with diet and exercise and you will lose weight.

AIDS killed it.
No one wanted to buy a dietary supplement with the same name as a dreadful disease.

The Aids crisis basically killed the company. I recently heard a radio interview with the guy that owned it. When they changed the name of Aids from Grid, he saw the writing on the wall. He said they tried to make a go of it but just couldn’t survive with slogans like "ayds helps me lose weight."

I never heard of it but was watching a show, I think it was VH1 I love the 80′s. …..Anyway they were talking about it and said the reason it did not do so great is because that was when AIDS was becoming well known. So basically the name killed the product

LOL – I remember that ! They had to change their name pretty quickly. I think they eventually went out of business when their products were deemed unsafe:
