How can I lose 10-20 pounds of fat in a month?
I have just started a new diet and workout. I currently weigh 220 pounds and would ultimately like to get down to around 200 pounds (maybe eventually 190 or 185ish), but with more muscle than fat. I am doing cardio, weight training, and have been on a low calorie diet (I tried Atkins, but I couldn’t do no carbs at all). I have been eating lean meats, fiber, fruits + veggies, and drinking lots of water and green tea. (also eat celery and grapefruit). Is there anything else I can do? I have been taking Mega-T Green Tea, a natural weight loss supplement, are there any other natural supplements that you would reccomend? Would you reccomend fasting, and if so how many days a month?
Fasting will only hurt you.. you will lose some weight, but then you will just gain it all back. Make sure you doing at least 45min of cardio or more at least 3-4 times a week. It takes about 30 min of cardio before you really start to burn fat. If your doing 30 min or less your really just wasting your time and you will get slower results. Other than that is sounds like your on the right track! If you really want to lose your weight fast you would have to burn more calories a day than you eat. I know a friend that would do 2 hrs on the elliptical 2 days a week and then 45- and hour 3 other days a week. She lost weight pretty fast!

Plain and simple, you can’t lose that much weight in that short period of time. At least, not if you want it to stay off, and to be safe in doing it. A good rate to shoot for is about a pound and a half per week.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that you’re exercising and eating healthily – keep it up!
Lastly, fasting is just stupid. Your body needs nutrients. If you fast, yeah, your body will "eat" the fat, but there aren’t any nutrients in the fat. Not to mention, biologically-speaking, just like a cactus will flower in a drought because it thinks "crap, I’m gonna die so I’d better reproduce while I can!", if you reduce your caloric intake too greatly, you will fool your body into thinking you’re starving, and it will actually convert more of the food that you do eat into fat. That’s not what you want.
The sauna idea above is really stupid, too (if you’re not a boxer). Yeah, you’ll sweat a lot. And water is heavy, so you’ll lose weight. For about an hour. Then you’ll be more thirsty than you would have been if you hadn’t sweated that much, so you’ll drink more water, and boom the weight is back. It’s fine for the boxer, because by that time he’s already been weighed and gotten into the lower weight class. But if you want the weight to stay off, that’s ridiculous.

One thing that works for me is: before I eat, I drink a large glass of water, then if I’m still hungry, I won’t eat as much as I would have.
It’s better to eat 5-6 small meals than 2 or 3 regular meals each day.
also, fyi:
1 pound = 3500 calories.
If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.
ie, if you eat 2000 calories per day and burn 2500, you will lose 1 pound every week.
the average person burns 1000-1500 calories per day, just being alive.
power walking can burn 200-500 calories per hour.
exercise bike can burn 200-600 calories per hour.
swimming can burn 100-800 calories per hour.
jogging/running can burn 300-1200 calories per hour.
Also, try not to eat within 3-4 hours of going to sleep.
*********VERY IMPORTANT************
when trying to lose weight, very important to drink lots and lots of water ! ! !
You should drink at least 10 glasses per day, like 1 glass every hour !
This helps your body get rid of the fat when you are burning calories.
