would a diet of only fruits, vegetables and vitamins be a healthy weight loss routine?
I am trying to find a weight loss tactic, but don’t want to go to any huge extremes.
would eating only fruits vegetables and vitamins be a good meal plan to lose weight?
The body needs a variety of foods to be healthy.
Fruit and vegetables are essential of course but other food groups are required.
Dairy foods are needed for calcium for strong bones.
Protein for body strength. It also helps to stop you feeling hungry. The protein can come from vegetable as well as animal sources.
Grains are needed too either as bread, rice, breakfast cereals etc. They contain various vitamins and minerals as well as fibre.
Some fat is also needed. The good sort that you find in oily fish.

Check out the food pyramid website….for meal ideas.
a better idea would be….
do yoga every morning for an hour
Keep a food diary and write down everything you eat and drink. write the time too.
Make sure you drink at least 3 glasses of water in the morning, afternoon, evening.
Drink green tea, mate tea, or certain tea flavors like spice, or mint will decrease your hunger.
make yourself do some push ups, sit ups, or jog in place to waste 15 minutes.
The best tip is really to aware of how many calories you consume. You can in a way eat whatever u want…just in a smaller serving size.
if you must snack then choose fresh fruit.
meal ideas….
breakfast…. organic oatmeal, fruit, green tea.
lunch…whole grain bread, peanutbutter & jelly. Fruit, green tea.
dinner….grilled chicken, vegetables, green tea.
don’t forget to drink water and green tea all throughout the day!

Eating only fruits and vegetables and vitamins is a huge extreme, so if you want to avoid extremes don’t do that. Many vegetarians and vegans think their diet is healthy, but unless they are very careful they tend to suffer from malnutrition.
Fruits are full of sugar, so you want a way to get the benefits of eating fruit (the vitamins, minerals and fiber) without all the sugar. This is a common misconception, that eating fruit helps weight loss. Fruit is healthy to eat when maintaining weight, but not helpful for weight loss.
If you want a healthy way to lose way, you MUST include all the macronutrients – protein, carbs, and fats – as well as micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Don’t forget lots of water. The trick is to get all of your nutrition into the fewest calories possible, and there are some weight loss programs that can deliver. However, they vary in ease of implementation and cost. But if you don’t get your nutrition, like a previous poster said you will burn your muscle if you lack protein, and you will probably crave carbs because that is the body’s primary fuel source.
Think of this as a way to eat healthy for life, not just for weight loss. You will hopefully not go back to eating badly once you lose the weight, because then it will come back on.

No, without protein, you could eventually end up very ill. Even Vegans and Vegetarians eat protein in nuts, avocado, grain, seeds, soya, and loads of other ways without eating meat.
You already know inside that what you are thinking of doing is so wrong. If you restrict foods that are good for you and that you would normally eat, you are going to end up losing a few pounds and putting it all back on again and maybe even more.
